Facility Investments

A 180-year history and today’s modern medicine.

We are modernizing health care throughout Cook County for the expert care you count on, with over $150 million planned in improvements by 2020. That means adding cutting-edge technology, growing our capacity and leading the field through research and first-hand expertise. Here are just a few of the improvements:

Central Campus Health Center

We will unveil a state-of-the-art outpatient facility in 2018 that will offer Cook County’s first-rate care in a modern environment.

Women and Children's Center at Stroger Hospital

This dedicated space for women’s health and pediatrics will deliver preventive and specialized care, drawing from top expertise and research. The center will offer inpatient and outpatient obstetrics and gynecology, along with labor and delivery for women. For our youngest patients, the center will offer outpatient pediatric primary and specialty care as well as inpatient services like general pediatrics, neonatal and pediatric intensive care.

Provident Hospital

With new ophthalmology and mammogram services already available, Provident Hospital is home to a wide range of health and wellness services. We are also investing over $40 million in a new outpatient facility set to open in 2019 that will include modernized services and features.

Community Triage Center

Our new behavioral health center in the Roseland community offers walk-in services for patients with mental health and substance abuse needs. The center is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

With a commitment to renovate, rebuild or relocate all of our community health centers in the next 10 years, we’re constantly improving, growing and investing in the health of our patients and communities. Primary Care

We provide primary care and other services to more than 300,000 unique patients every year, helping to guide them through questions about their prescriptions, lab results, diet and exercise support and more.

  • Our patient portal offers secure online access to your medical information.
  • A new Patient Support Center coordinates incoming requests for appointments and referrals. It also provides patients real-time advice from our nursing staff. The support center operates 24 hours a day, Monday – Friday.
  • Our community-based health centers offer evening and Saturday appointments to fit your schedule.

Our team’s focus is simple: Ensure you and your baby are healthy during and after your pregnancy. Our commitment to women’s health is long-standing, and our broad range of expertise allows us to provide care for patients at every stage of their pregnancy and after. You can rely on us for care after the baby is born so you recover quickly and feel confident in your new role as a mother.

  • We are the only National Cancer Institute (NCI)-sponsored Minority/Underserved NCI Community Oncology Research Program in the Midwest.

Diabetes is one of Cook County’s most pressing health issues. Collectively, our team of experts have hundreds of years of experience. Each year we work to manage the health of 40,000 diabetic patients while bringing new research and technology to their care.

Our multidisciplinary diabetes teams are powered by a skilled and dedicated staff committed to combating diabetes through education, modern therapies, research and the promotion of healthy lifestyle habits.

Our team includes expert endocrinologists, certified diabetes educators, pharmacologists, psychologists, social workers and physical therapists. We are committed to empowering patients to make decisions today, that will lead to a healthier tomorrow.
